To turn your ship and aim your weapon, use the mouse cursor. As you move the mouse, the ship will turn as quickly as it can (this varies by ship) to aim in that direction.
The fastest way to get around is by using the retro-booster. Hold the space bar or right-click to accelerate in the direction the ship is facing.
It's not always convenient to turn the ship away from the enemy you're shooting at. To move the ship gently in any direction using the maneuvering thrusters, use the W, A, S, and D keys for up, left, down, and right respectively.
Holding the left mouse button will continuously fire the ship's main weapon at its maximum firing rate.
The goal here is simple - stay alive and destroy as many enemy ships as possible!
In this most traditional of team shooter games, your goal is to capture the enemy's "flag" from their base and return it to your own. At the same time you must defend your own base to stop the enemy from stealing yours! The team with the most captures wins.
The barb is the ultimate in minimalist ship design. It consists of nothing more than the PewTech standard single-seat cockpit with a thruster on the back, an overclocked rapid-fire energy gun on the front, and a pair of small radiator panels on the sides for cooling.
It makes up for its total lack of armour with unmatched agility, allowing a skilled pilot to dodge incoming projectiles altogether.
The energy gun used on this ship was originally designed as a heavy machine gun for use by ground troops. Mounting it to a ship means that more power and cooling is available, allowing technicians to boost the weapons firepower to ridiculous levels (for a hand gun...) at the expense of accuracy. It is most effective at close range.
The Delta is an all-purpose combat ship with a good level of armour, firepower and agility. The Delta can hold its own against most other ships and in most situations, either as part of a fleet or on its own.
The flexible nature of the Delta makes it the perfect choice for solo pilots or very small teams.
If you take your ship to a top-of-the-line PewTech repair centre, your ship may be repaired in an instant using a PewTech replicator array. This technology was recently made mobile to support a new rapid-repair callout (PewTech RRC) service.
For the battlefield, the RRC was affectionately dubbed the "Medic". It has had its replicator array overclocked and modified to repair friendly units in combat. The software has also been modified so that the array can also disasemble enemy units at a similar rate.
A well-piloted Medic can make a considerable difference your team's offensive, allowing the group to quickly recover between attacks.
“Pumhart” is actually the name of the energy cannon, which was originally designed for use on space stations and military flagships. Some lunatic had the idea of attaching spaceship parts to it, so that it can be flown directly into a skirmish.
The extreme weight of the weapon alone means that the Pumhart is difficult to manoeuvre and not well suited to dogfights on its own. To be fully effective, it would need support from teammates in more agile ships.
The Sprite was designed to bring up the rear of an attack-formation. Its weapon is a high-precision laser beam with a long effective range.
A skilled pilot can use the Sprite's agility to keep a managable distance between them and their target, potentially making the enemy's weapons useless if their range is too short.
Unlike the Pumhart, the Zep was actually designed to be a heavy assault ship from the ground up. As such, it is a lot more able to hold its own in combat without the support of teammates.
This ship is likely to change in future versions, so watch this space!
